Macedonia and Switzerland signed Tuesday an agreement on regular air
traffic, which foresees more regular flights, flow of passengers and
lower-price tickets.
Transport Minister Mile Janakieski and Swiss Ambassador to Macedonia Nicole Wyrsch put their signatures on the document.
-
The new agreement replaces the one of 1996 and promotes competitive
international air traffic under minimal state intervention. It will
enable larger choice of services for passengers and stimulate the
airliners of both countries to set up better, competitive prices,
Janakieski said at the signing ceremony.
Ambassador Wyrsch
believes that the document will attract Swiss companies to launch
regular flights considering the number of Macedonians living in
Switzerland.
Janakieski and Wyrsch considered that the
agreement was signed in the right time - the fortcoming introduction of
EU free visa regime for the citizens of Macedonia.
Janakieski said Macedonia would also sign such agreement with Turkey.
