THE DISPUTE: Broadcasters hurt by declining ad revenue are demanding more fees from cable and other subscription TV providers to carry the stations. The providers are resisting.
SIGNAL INTERRUPTED: Viewers could temporarily lose access to local stations, as Cablevision customers found with the New York City ABC station on Sunday.
JUST THE BEGINNING: Several contracts expire this year. That means more such standoffs could come.
