Kosovo Doctors, Police protest over Salaries |

Some 1,500 health care workers and 100 police officers protested Wednesday in the capital of Kosovo, Pristina, demanding higher salaries and better working conditions.
Doctors and nurses marched through Pristina in their white uniforms, holding banners saying, "Do not forget us, help us, we save lives."
Doctors in Kosovo receive an average of EUR 250 ($ 350) per month. Health care workers protested last October demanding higher salaries. They were promised a 30-per-cent increase, but have not received it yet.
Also, some 100 members of an elite police team went on strike Wednesday demanding higher salaries. An average monthly salary for the police is around EUR 280.
