Maribor airport to get new terminal next year PDF Print E-mail

The project of reconstruction of Edvard Rusjan airport in Maribor will cost EUR 15.28 million. The biggest portion of which (EUR 11.12 million) will be acquired from the European Regional Development Fund, while the rest will be covered with Government budget funds, announced the Ministry of Transport.

The project is a logical continuation of the improvement of airport infrastructure, which has been implemented from 2004 to 2007, which were worth EUR 4.38 million.

At the end of 2009 the airport concluded the selection of the general contractor tasked with drawing up the main plan of the airport, in which Airport Consulting Vienna and the Ljubljana Spatial Planning Institute were chosen as the most affordable bidders. The completion of the renovation of the passenger terminal is scheduled for 2011.
